Below are some of the most asked questions and answers for your convenience. Please let us know if there is a question we did not answer here.

Do I Have To Come In For A Consultation?: The consultation is an important part of the creative process and insures that your session is everything you want it to be. Coming to our studio for a consultation also gives you an opportunity to see and touch the products we offer which gives you a better idea of how these items might fit into your home and lifestyle. However, you do not have to come in for a consult, we can do it over the phone or video conference.
Where is the studio located?: Wehmeier Portraits is based in our home in Orland Park. After nearly 18 years in a retail location, we relocated the studio to our home in 2017. We LOVE it and our clients LOVE the relaxed, home environment. We have a dedicated camera room and a relaxing presentation room.

When you arrive, we ask you to park on the driveway to avoid unloading little ones in the street.

What Are Your Hours?: All sessions and meetings are by appointment only. We do offer evening and weekend appointments, which are limited, and book quickly.
How Do I Schedule A Session?: Give us a call today to start the process. We can be reached at our studio 708-226-1593. Or you can send us your contact info through our web form and we will reach out to you.
What Should We Wear For Our Portrait Session?: We’ll talk about clothing options at your portrait planning/design meeting. We have a lot of great recommendations that depend on your personal style, the type of session you want and the decor of your home where you'll be hanging your portraits. We have a “what to wear” guide that will be provided to you at this meeting.
Can I Reschedule My Session?: Yes. Kids can become ill at the last second. If your child isn’t feeling well, I am happy to reschedule your appointment. For outdoor sessions, If the weather isn’t looking favorable (rain, strong winds, unexpected cold temps, etc) then I’m happy to reschedule, too.
Can You Photograph At Our Home Or Yard?: Yes, We like photo at our clients homes, it can make the final portrait very special. We like to scout the home or yard prior to the session to determine the best location and time of day to photograph.
Do You Have Recommend Locations For An Outdoor Portrait Session?: I am happy to recommend a great location for your session. Let us know if you have a special location you would like our input on, I'm happy to explore new locations for your session. An important note: Some parks, venues, beaches and forest preserves in our area have license, permit, or insurance requirements to photograph at and may require multiple weeks to secure. Please reach out to us for more information, we're happy to discuss the details with you.
Do You Travel For Photo Sessions?: Absolutely! I’d love to discuss the details with you.
How Do I View The Images From My Session and Place An Order?: Once your session is complete we will arrange with you a time for all the decision makers to return to our studio to view and select your favorite images. At this appointment we craft and finalize your portrait order, so it is important to pick a time where all the decision makers are able to attend.
How Long Does It Take for Me to Receive My Portraits?: Once your order is places, the processing time typically takes from two to three weeks. Some frame options and image products may extend this production time. We will keep you fully apprised of the order process as it proceeds.
How Much Do Sessions Typically Cost?: Total investment varies greatly from client to client. What you invest in and how much you spend is completely up to you. Most clients invest upwards of $1200.
Do You Offer Gift Certificates?: Yes! You can purchase gift certificates. We sell them by dollar amount or by session with finished prints. Recommended Gift Certificate Amounts starting at $500.
What Payment Methods Do You Accept?: We accept cash, check, Venmo, and all major credit card.
Do You Offer Payment Plans?: Yes! I know these sessions can be a big investment, and I’m happy to divide your total into monthly payments. However, no files or other products will be delivered until payment has been received in full. (Session fee of $375 must be paid on or before the shoot date, no payment plans for this.)
Do You Have a Guarantee?: All sessions come with a satisfaction guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with your portraits we will rephotograph or offer you a refund of what you have spent with us.
Do You Retouch The Portraits From My Session?: All portraits that you purchase will be retouched to address blemishes, hair fly aways, spot on clothing, etc. Unless requested, I don't erase scars, moles or tattoos. All of my retouching is intended to flatter the subject while being subtle and unnoticed to the viewer.
How Long Will Our Session Last?: This depends on the session you have chosen. Most family sessions are between 60 and 90 minutes. Business headshots are between 20 and 40 minutes.
Can You Photograph Different Groupings At Our Session?: Yes. Tell us about the “groupings” you want during your portrait consultation. We normally like to provide you with as much variety as possible. Let’s chat about your vision for your session and the groupings you might like during your portrait consultation!
What If My Children Misbehave?: As parents of 3, I absolutely understand your concern. Rest assured, I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve. I encourage you to try relax as much as possible, and just go with the flow. There’s no pressure here! We can work around most things and, in my experience, with a little patience. the kids will warm up and enjoy the session.
Can We Bring Along Our Family Pet?: Yes. Please let us know that you would like to include your furry family member in the session at your consultation. We can help plan how best to include them in the portrait.
How Many Images Will I Have To Choose From?: For individual sessions, we generally show around 30 images. For family sessions, we like to show between 40 - 60 images. With our in person ordering appointment and our in presentation software we can help you sort down to your favorite images very quickly.
Are Digital Files Included With Our Purchase?: Yes, we’ll give you a digital file of ANYTHING you purchase for you to use on FACEBOOK or your PHONE or EMAIL. You will have those forever to remember this session. We keep the printable digital files here because it’s our job to make sure you get the absolute best artwork possible, which can only come from us.
Can You Help Me Install My New Portraits On Our Walls?: Yes. We offer a complimentary portrait hanging service for our wall art clients.
Do You Still Have The Pig Orchestra And Chicken?: Yes. But, some of the pigs are getting close to retirement. We are currently auditioning for their understudies.

Do You Have Business Insurance?: Yes, I have both public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

Do You Photograph Weddings?: Yes, we take on a few select wedding clients every year. We would be happy to meet with you to hear about your plans and show you our style of wedding photography.
How far in advance should I book my photography session?: Our availability varies throughout the year; weekend times are taken more quickly. It's best to call us, and we can share our availability.
