Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the difference between a Full, Mini and a Specialty session?
A: A Full session, with a commitment fee of $150, is our most popular type of session. The Commitment fee is divided with $75 as the creative fee and $75 as a credit toward your order. We set aside one hour of studio time, offer different background and clothing change options and provide a variety of poses to give each session a unique feel. We capture both stylized (posed) and photojournalistic (candid) type of images. This session is perfect for families, children and clients who want variety to their session and image selection options.
For extended family sessions the Commitment fee is $125 and applied entirely toward the session. Individual family or generational groupings are always encouraged with no additional fee.
A Mini session, with a commitment fee of $75, is a limited session designed for clients with a focused vision for their photography experience. The Commitment fee is divided with $50 as the creative fee and $25 as a credit toward your order. We set aside 30 minutes for the session, offer limited background and clothing options and a limited number of images are created. This session is perfect for individuals, pets and couples who only need a few images to select from and will be purchasing only one or two portrait images.
A Specialty session is one that is time sensitive (maternity, baby, communion, 8th grade, Senior, etc). Please contact the studio for information regarding Specialty sessions.
Q: Do I have to schedule a Design Consultation?
A: We recommend it. A Design Consultation is strongly encouraged prior to your portrait session. Our Design Consultant will meet with you to discuss every detail of your portrait experience from clothing and location selections to proper image size, product selection, frame choices, and placement in your home. We understand professional portraiture is an investment and want to make certain we are all on the same page.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: We have a 48 hour cancellation policy. If for any reason, you must cancel or reschedule, we ask that you do so before 48 hours of your scheduled session or appointment. Because we have set aside specific studio time for your session, your session fee is non-refundable. However, the session fee is transferable if the reschedule is made prior to the original session date. Cancellations due to illness or extenuating circumstance are handled on an individual basis.
Q: Should I come early to prepare for my session?
A: No. We set aside ample time for you to prepare for your session once you arrive (dressing, diaper changes, quick feeding, make-up, hair and warm-up time, etc). In consideration of the appointments before and after yours, we do ask that you come at your reserved time.
Q: When will I be able to see my images?
A. After your session, your images will be ready to view at your projection & ordering appointment which will be scheduled approximately 5-7 days after your session. You will be treated to a projected custom slideshow of your images and we will assist you in choosing your favorite images as well as determining the correct size and cropping of each portrait image. You will see each individual's expression clearly, unlike printed or online previews. You will see exactly what your portrait will look like when enlarged to appropriate sizes. We ask that you have all decision makers present for your projection & ordering appointment and review where you would like the images displayed in your home as this makes the process run smoothly for everyone.
Q: Can I place my order after my projection & ordering appointment?
A: You can, however it is more beneficial to you to place your order at your scheduled projection & ordering appointment. We offer client incentives on the date the projection is scheduled, if the order is placed after that date, the incentives are void. An archive retrieval fee may be applied to an order placed after a scheduled projection & order date.
Q: How long will it take for my order to be completed?
A: Please allow 3-4 weeks for your order to be completed. Some orders may take longer. We look at your portraits as an investment, and an heirloom that we don't want rushed. Your portraits are produced with great care using the best materials available in the professional photographic industry. Manufacturers' recommendations for proper handling of these materials are followed to ensure permanence. Remember, quality takes time!
Q: Do I need an appointment to pick up my order?
A: Yes. We like to schedule a specific time, just for you, so that we may assist you with your order. Should you stop by unexpectedly and we are with another client, you may have to wait unnecessarily. We know your time is valuable and by scheduling an appointment we will be able to prepare for your visit in advance.
