Our goal at Wehmeier Portraits is to provide interpretive and artful reminders of your everyday moments.  From Life to Art is not just a slogan, but our philosophy.  We enjoy preserving the precious, fleeting moments of your child and family in the form of an Artist Original that will quickly become a family treasure.  It is the love of photographing our own children that has motivated Rob to offer his interpretive style of photography to you.
We specialize in creating portraits on location (in your home or a location of your choice) where you, your children, or your family are most comfortable.   We want to create an artistic, sensitive portrait for you which is truly a work of art.  To aid you in displaying your portrait we will offer suggestions on how to present the final piece.

Rob first explored photography at the age of 13 and later worked to create an individualized major in Photography at Valparaiso University.  This time of exploration and experimentation laid the foundation for Rob's present photographic style.  His entry into professional photography began as an assistant to commercial photographers in Chicago, concentrating primarily in the advertising and catalog markets.  In 1995 the decision was made to move away from assisting and direct all energies into honing a style and direction for Rob and Wehmeier Photography.  This transitional period allowed for varied opportunities and clients in addition to creative experimentation with formats, lighting and subjects.

Today Rob's work has evolved from that of technician to artist.  His creative eye brings out the "wow" in life's ordinary objects, be they people, places or things.  Taking the mundane and bringing it to life photographically is both energizing and motivating for Rob.

Working alongside Rob is his wife Elise.  Elise manages the studio and provides valuable insight into image selections and presentation recommendations for each client and often accompanies Rob to photo sessions. Her favorite "task" is raising their favorite models, daughters Courtney and Brooke.
