The Studio
Wehmeier Portraits calls Orland Park, Illinois home and photographs clients from the southern suburbs, Chicago and beyond. Rob Wehmeier's clients rely on him to capture images from all of life's special events, from weddings to infants and high school seniors to extended family celebrations. His focus on relationships, creative approach to newborns, children, seniors, family portraits and a unique perspective on wedding photography has provided him with much success doing what he loves. By combining his passion for photography and his love of people, Rob Wehmeier and Wehmeier Portraits is the studio of choice for fresh, creative and artful portraits. He and his team take great pride in the imagery created and in the high level of customer service they provide.
From the moment you enter the studio and into our comfortable 'living room', your senses are treated to aromatic ribbons, soft music and portraits beautifully displayed around the room and along the gallery hallway. A baby changing area is ready to accommodate the many little ones photographed and diapers are stocked in a variety of sizes. The changing room offers amenities (blow dryer, hair bands & hair clips even razors and shaving cream) to help make your portrait experience a success. Our refreshment center is filled with cool water, your choice of single brewed coffee or tea, snacks and breath mints… just in case.
Wehmeier Portraits offers clients something unique as it functions as a family team. Rob and wife Elise personally work with each client assuring attention to detail and a successful experience. Children are encouraged to "play" in the comfortable atmosphere of our studio "living room" and camera room before every session which gives them time to warm up to the Wehmeier Portraits' team. This also provides an opportunity to find out what makes the little one "tick" and how best to work with them to guarantee the created images will reflect a happy, confident child.
The camera room is designed so we can use multiple walls to provide both classic and unique background opportunities. There is something for everyone…you may enjoy images created on a traditional "old masters" style backdrop, in front of a white washed wall and wood panel floor or one of our many different colored panels.
When you return for your projection & ordering appointment, you will relax in our living room, sinking into the soft leather couch and enjoy the portraits that are beautifully displayed around the room. Once you have made yourself at home, you will be treated to a custom slideshow of your images. This will help you make the important decisions about what to order. With Elise and Rob's assistance, it will be easy! To make the process run smoothly for everyone, we ask that all decision makers be present for your projection & ordering appointment and that you have given thought to where you would like your beautiful images displayed in your home.
The Team
Rob Wehmeier - Everyday I get to do something I really love - combine my passion for photography with my love of people. I create images for our clients that will be shared, treasured and passed down from generation to generation.
Since 1991 I have been a full-time professional photographer, initially working exclusively with commercial clients throughout the Chicagoland area. In 1998, following the birth of our first child, my focus turned to portrait photography and that shift has given me the opportunity to be come part of clients' lives. I have watched families grow – from baby bumps to newborns, newborns into children, children into teenagers, teenagers evolve into young adults and young adults begin their own families. I love being a part of this cycle of life.
Elise Wehmeier - Everyday day at the studio is different from the day before and you never know what the new day will bring. I love the opportunity to make a difference in our clients' lives and be a part of creating photographic art they will lovingly display in their homes, just as we do in our own home. I enjoy working with my best friend and having our three children experience what we love to do.

- • Cross 143rd Street intersection, keeping to the left lane
- • Turn left (east) at 144th Place (stoplight)
- • Turn left into Wehmeier Portraits parking lot - 9540 W 144th Place
- • We have designated parking spaces in front of our studio as well as open parking in the rear of the building
From the South (South Orland, Tinley Park, Frankfort / Mokena areas)
- • LaGrange north toward Orland Park
- • Cross 159th Street and continue north to 144th Place
- • Turn right (east) at 144th Place (stoplight)
- • Turn left into Wehmeier Portraits parking lot – 9540 W 144th Place
- • We have designated parking spaces right in front of our studio as well as open parking in the rear of the building.
